PHILOSOPHY St.
Michael Lutheran School is a faith family, where caring staff and involved
parents provide great programs for kids. Purpose:
To bring children and their families closer to Jesus Christ through the
working of the Holy Spirit. Mission
Statement: St. Michael Lutheran Church, through its school, makes
disciples by providing an environment where the entire curriculum is
integrated with Christian values that extend into daily life. STAFF All
teachers are certified in their area of instruction by appropriate agencies.
Preschool meets all state requirements, and is licensed through the
state of Michigan. Several
teachers hold degrees beyond the requirements to maintain certification. All
teachers are trained in instructing and living the Christian faith.
This is in holding with our philosophy. The
Pastor plays a key role as the spiritual leader of our school and congregation. The
school and church secretaries have their children enrolled in our school, and
did so before they took on these positions.
Thus, they are particularly knowledgeable about our school from a
parent standpoint. Teachers
are also involved in school areas beyond their classroom, as well as
congregational roles. PROGRAM St.
Michael Lutheran School offers a full year school program, meeting or
exceeding all state requirements. St.
Michael Lutheran School is accredited by three different agencies: The
Michigan District, the Michigan Association of Nonpublic School and National
Lutheran Schools Accreditation. St.

Michael Lutheran School graduates go on to attend Lutheran High Westland, as
well as public schools in all the surrounding school districts.

addition to academics, St. Michael Lutheran School provides opportunities for
students in many fine arts areas. These
include vocal choirs, handbell choirs, band, and an annual school musical EXTRACURRICULAR The
