WELCOME TO ST. MICHAEL! We extend a warm welcome in Jesus’ name to all worshipping with us today, especially those visiting for the first time. May our time together be filled with the friendship we find in Jesus.  And also, may you be spiritually uplifted, knowing that forgiveness and salvation comes from Him.  We teach and profess that Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the grave conquering sin, death, and the devil.  To better serve you, those entrusted to our care today, we’d like to have a record of everyone’s attendance.  So please register in the white attendance books at the end of each pew or sign our guest book on the Welcome Center in the Narthex. Visitors, if you would, please write your full name, address (including zip code) and phone number. May God bless our worship!

NOTE TO FAMILIES: We, at St. Michael, value families in worship. One of the joys we have is gathering together to receive the words of forgiveness in Jesus and His sacraments. This is one of the few activities young children, their parents, and the elderly can do together. Therefore, we want to create an environment where all can worship together. Should your child become distracting, we have set up chairs at the back of the church, in the narthex, so you can remain in worship. We encourage and desire that all families come together for worship since we all are a part of the body of Christ.

HOLY COMMUNION: The Lord’s Supper is celebrated at this congregation in the confession and confidence that our Lord gives us not only bread and wine but His very body and blood to eat and to drink for the forgiveness of sins and to strengthen our union with Him and with one another (Matthew 26:26-28; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17, 11:23-26).  St. Paul warns us that if someone takes communion in an unworthy manner they bring spiritual harm upon themselves (1 Corinthians 11:27-32).  Therefore, we recognize that the Lord’s Supper should only be given to baptized and faithful Christians.  For that reason we invite all those to participate in the Lord’s Supper who have been baptized in the name of the Triune God, are sorry for their sins, believe that the body and blood of Jesus is present in the bread and wine, and believe that their sins are truly forgiven.  If you are in doubt about this and hold a belief differing from this congregation, or are not currently a member of a Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod congregation, we ask that you first speak with the pastor before participating with us in communion.
